Mark and Laura (Everly) Clark of Kansas City are proud to announce the birth of their first child a daughter, Elana Ann Clark. Elana was born May 18, 2006, at North Kansas City Hospital at 2:48 p.m. She weighed 6 pounds, 7 ounces, and was 19 inches long.
Briana Heldenbrand wins Lake Viking Lions Club International Peace Poster Contest.
The Winston FFA Chapter sent four of their members to attend the National Convention in Indianapolis, Ind. The four members that attended included Bubba Legg, Blaine Martin, Courtney Lang and Johnna Stephen.
Ten Winston R-6 music students participated in the Junior High School All-District Honor Choir on Saturday, Nov. 11, at Missouri Western University in St. Joseph. Seven Winston R-6 band students participated in All-Conference band auditions on Nov. 15 at Gilman City School with the following results: Front row, Tabitha Piburn-4th chair clarinet. Cody Youtsey-7th chair trumpet, Back: Ryan Curtis-1st chair Baritone Saxophone, Chandler Newman-6th chair clarinet, Emily McFee-6th chair flute, Briana Heldenbrand-10th chair flute, Tim Mozingo-1st chair tuba. Tabitha Piburn also was selected as 2nd alternate chair for All-District Concert Band at auditions on Friday, Nov.4, at Central High School in St. Joseph.
