Terrill Wood and Levi Michener, both students at Gallatin High School, recently attended the Missouri Chamber of Commerce Leadership in Practice program at Stephens College in Columbia.
“I guess the point of the story,” said Phil Whitt, “is that my great-grandfather was thought highly enough of, and had enough connections, that he got the money given to him. It’s the only reason we have it.” Phil is talking about a partial collection of Confederate currency discovered at the passing of his mother, Sharon Whitt, earlier this year.
The annual Daviess County Jr. Livestock Show will be held this year on July 12, 13, and 14 at the fair grounds located inside Dockery Park.

Over 100 years of collecting has gone into Al’s Antiques, a new store that recently opened in Pattonsburg. The name comes from three groups of Als represented by its owners: Allen and Bonnie McFall; Alan and Linda Goodwin; and Allen Hutchinson. Pictured are Bonnie McFall and Alan Hutchinson.
