Fixing up golf carts started for Dewight Smith as a hobby when he spruced up one for a grandchild. It grew from there. And grew. Now he finds himself working at the Hillbilly Shop every Sunday to about 10 p.m. He does the work himself, but wife Kathy is the owner. “She’s the boss; I just work here,” said Dewight. “She’s fired me a time or two, but I get quickly rehired.” The golf cart on the left belongs to R.G. and Norma Curtis. It is custom painted, trimmed out, and diamond plated. The “lifted” golf cart, right, belongs to Debbie and the late Roger Loxterman.
