Two people received minor injuries in an accident that happened at about 9:37 p.m. on June 20 in Daviess County.

According to a report by the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Brandon Curtis, 19, Gallatin, was westbound on Hwy. 6 about 1.5 miles east of Altamont. Another vehicle being driven by Sandra Smith, 33, St. Joseph, was also westbound. Smith’s vehicle slowed due to a deer crossing the roadway. Curtis’ vehicle struck hers from behind. Both vehicles came to a controlled stop on the westbound shoulder of Hwy. 6.

Curtis was taken by private vehicle to Liberty Hospital. Smith was taken by private vehicle to Heartland Regional Medical Center. Both were wearing their seat belts.
