Answer
·  Our event is not-for-profit. Is there a charge?

Generally, and regardless of whether your organization is not-for-profit, if admission is charged then publicity is charged. The expenses for paper, ink and postage apply even as we donate our labor for your non-profit group. So, if you charge, we charge.

·  There is no admission charged to our event. What kind of publicity will you provide?

We will publish a news article about your event no more than two times, once well in advance and again the week of the event. If a business, organization or individual wants an article published more than twice, they must pay to have the article published as an advertisement.

·  Do you charge for birthday and anniversary announcements?

Basic information concerning anniversaries, reunions or other celebrations can be printed free of charge. However, birthday messages of a personal nature must be paid advertisements. News articles are not intended to be invitations to attend an event and, thus, should not include such statements as "Friends and family are invited to attend." Invitations and such statements as "The couple requests no gifts, please" are advertising statements.

·  Can I get a copy of an old newspaper?

Approximately 25 copies of each edition are available on file for the previous 52 weeks. These may be purchased while supplies last. Thereafter, a single copy is bound in an annual hardback book for posterity. These archive books as well as microfilm of many older editions are available for public use at the Daviess County Library in Gallatin.

·  How do I make this web site my home page?

Programs vary, but in Microsoft Internet Explorer click on "Tools" at the top of the page, then click on "Internet Options." In the tab named "General" you will find a data entry field for "Home Page" where you type the following: http://www.gallatinnorthmissourian.com

·  Are past 1970's era high school graduation pictures available in the archives section if you subsribe and receive the archive section online?

Our electronic archive began in 2000.  There are photos prior to that time, but randomly. You can do a word search within the photo album to check specific results. There are several reunion photographs but nothing comprehensive during the 1970s. You can e-mail photos you'd like to submit to include online -- perhaps your photo is one others would treasure!

·  How can I post a classified ad on this site, and how much it cost?

You can click on "Rates & Deadlines" on the green stripe at the top of this page, or simply email your message to us. We will reply with a response specific to your request.
