An Altamont teenager received moderate injuries in a one-vehicle accident at about 2:10 a.m. June 22 on Hwy. 69, five miles north of Altamont.

According to the highway patrol, Jasmine Swearingin, 18, Altamont, was southbound on Hwy. 69 when she fell asleep. Her 2000 Pontiac traveled off the right side of the roadway and struck an embankment, overturning. The car came to rest on its top, facing east on the west side of Hwy. 69.

Jasmine was taken to Cameron Regional Medical Center by Daviess County Ambulance. She was wearing her seat belt.

The vehicle was totaled.

The accident was investigated by Tpr. A.K. Griffin, assisted by Daviess County Sheriff’s Office and Daviess County First Responders.
